Don Julios Mexican Restaurant - Port Lavaca (TX)

1 /5 Gbug J: I’m not one to leave reviews but wow. This was the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. The “ribeye” was as thin as a slice of ham and was extremely undercooked with no flavor. The margarita, both the house and strawberry tasted like a dirty rag. The chicken enchiladas were absolutely horrible. The container the tortillas came in had hair on them. The highlight was chips and salsa, although it’s $5 if you want another basket. Would absolutely never recommend this place.

5 /5 Aaron Porche: I got a barbacoa taco and a shrimp taco The shrimp was small and didnt look as impressive as some other shrimp tacos. However, the flavor was there and was easy to eat due to the small shrimp. The barbacoa taco was a more course cut than expected, but again the flavor was great. My girl got a texas plate. The rice had vegetables she didnt like too much, but I found them fine. The beans were good. The carne guisada was tender with a good amount of gravy. The enchiladas had a good flavor too. The only detriment to her food was with all the sauce and cheese, they only gave one tortilla, needs at least two. The guacamole was rather spicy, too hot for her. Fine by me, but my spice tolerance is way higher. The restaurant also had little murals on all the chairs which I find adorable.

4 /5 Kyle Grudzinski: The only reason its four stars is because we estimated the meal to be about $40 and it ended up being closer to $60. They charge for absolutely every add on and like $5 for extra chips. No judgement, gotta make your money, just didnt expect it to be *that* much extra and I only bring that up so no one else is caught off guard because really, were all on a budget. Excellent service, good food, atmosphere like a family reunion of people you havent met yet, that being said everything else was wonderful
