4 /5 Spike Speedwell: A very nice upscale restaurant, a sophisticated ambiance, modern décor. Pricey bottles of wine on display, smartly dressed professional waitstaff. The entrees, generous portions of bland overpriced food.
I had the Spicey Chicken Kabob. Not spicey at all, and a couple of the pieces were raw in the center. That brought my meal to a halt. The Ground Beef Kabob, well a good hamburger has more flavor. And my wife’s Salmon, like the other platters, filled with a big fillet, no detectable seasoning. Other than the raw chicken on my plate, nothing was bad, just bland. Each platter loaded with a barge sized serving of rice. Enough rice to end hunger in a small third world country.
The Baba Ghanoush appetizer fair. Three large scoops of thick smokey eggplant, missing the other flavors and seasoning that make a really good Baba Ghanoush. The best item served though.
I bet that there is better Mediterranean food in the area, at a better price. Maybe not as fancy of a restaurant, but you might save enough money to swing by Spec’s on the way home and purchase a good bottle of wine with money you saved.
