Sharma, B We were in Beaumont for a night and decided on this place for dinner. The map took us to Sweet Basil through some backstreets and for a moment we were concerned about where we were going. But then we emerged into a regular shopping center and we breathed again. The place, it being a Thursday night, was pretty empty - only about 8 or 10 people in a place for about 50ish seats. We were also a bit early, about 7pm. The waiter hands us the menu, we take out time and then choose a plate of sweet bahn bao (those little fluffy breads filled with meats and veggies) with marinated pork and a plate of hot mess fries. They were both sooooo good. After we were done with the starters we ordered a sweet basil special fried rice to share. The plate was huge and, again, very flavorful. By the time we finished, more people had started coming in. Later, we told some other local people about the place and they who said that this was one of their favorite restaurants in town. Our check for the two of us, with tips, totaled just above $50.

Amy Dowdy This hidden gem is always on point! The food is delicious. The service is wonderful. The restaurant is clean and inviting. I had the pastitsio, which is the Greek version of lasagna. Its made with layers of penne pasta, red sauce with ground beef, and covered with a bechamel sauce (no cottage or ricotta cheese in this beauty!) Do yourself a favor and give this place a go.

Tom I ordered door dash. This was the best plate I’ve had in a long time. I wanted catfish but got the beef tips with yams, mash potatoes and gravy, with greens. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! I’m from New Orleans and I stamp them.

Lori Goats Oh my word! If you like southern home cooked meals, this is your place! There’s a really great selection of food in a cafeteria style line where you select you meat and sides and they put it on your plates. How they get that much food on your plate is pretty amazing . Choose from gumbo, catfish coubion, beef tips with gravy, smothered peas, greens, cornbread and TONS more. They offer fried food in the afternoon and pm I believe. You gotta try this little hole in the wall that is high cuisine!

Kathryn Dizon Ate here for a late lunch this week and absolutely loved it. I ordered the fried chicken (breast and thigh) and it was cooked to perfection. Very crispy, juicy, and not too salty. I also ordered rice with gravy, beans, and corn. The service here was really amazing. A few nice gentlemen helped me out when I walked in to pick up my food. Derrick also let me try a piece of their baked chicken which was seasoned very well!! I might order that next time. I just moved to the area so I will definitely be back. The staff was so welcoming and friendly.

Stephanie Mayra is my favorite waitress here! She always brings little empty salsa cups for my kiddos I can put cheese dip in it for the kids. We never have an empty glass! She is very intuitive to our needs!

Anytime we go this way to visit her aunt Cathy we go to boil City first on the way there and we can bring her something from there the atmosphere is great the people are friendly they have drinks Im going to post pictures of all of it!!! Im going to show you several pictures of everything in the restaurant the whole place is beautiful!! When we first got they are my daughter had to use the restroom and we went inside it smells like cologne in there it was so clean it was immaculate!!!

Thomas Holmes This place is amazing the food there is 100% quality. It is homemade and very tasteful. They have tons of choices to choose from on a steam table all four sides and they give you a good quantity for around $10. You cant go anywhere else and get you a great meal the best price. Ive been going here since my brother introduced me to this place. Almost everyday now for lunch. Heres some photos to give you an idea of what they I have here. Eric Arnold This place is a classic "hole in the wall" with really good food. I especially like the chocken and sausage gumbo along with a side of fried shrimp and onion rings. The shrimp and grits are really good as well. Great place for take out. Order is completed quickly with all the extras.
