Christie reader You have to figure that a church with a photo of its ramp prominently featured on its website is a WELCOMING congregation. WOW! This is a place where people worship God and are devoted to the Body of Christ as family. Rev. Curtis Wubbena stopped drawing a salary the 2022-2023 school year and continues to pastor the church while also employed as an elementary school principal. This is a resilient group of believers who are finding ways to grow their Family relationships and literally obey Biblical precepts to take care of those orphaned and the widows among them.

Kirk B. We were visiting this small town while hoping for clear skies for our observatory reservations. Well it rained for two days straight but we saw the shining stars and the light in this little cowboy church on Sunday morning. We were met by friendly faces, hot coffee and warm donuts. This church had a local rancher / blue color flavor that makes you feel like family as soon as you walk through their doors. I agree that the message was in parables but that is how I learn how to apply His words to my present day life. We plan on going back to the observatory some day when it’s not raining. I’m sure we will also stop and have another heavenly view of our future at this Fun little Cowboy Church. Blessings, Wife and I

Patricia Alkawadri I first attended this parish back in April during Easter week because my fiancé happens to attend this as he is a member of this parish. He first attended when he enrolled into the R.C.I.A. In October of 2022 and then received his baptism, confirmation, and holy Eucharist with 6 months! As of right now, he is a volunteer of the R.C.I.A. as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. I, too, am a volunteer of the R.C.I.A. Class and attend other parish activities as well. The people there are so friendly and welcoming. They make me feel at home with their hospitality. What more can I say. This has now became my home parish, now that I moved here from Southern California almost a month ago!

Joshua Farris Holy Cross is a fairly traditional Anglican parish in west Texas, basically cowboy country. It is a unique place amongst cowboy churches and baptist churches. It is high church in liturgical practice. Beautiful sanctuary and consistent liturgy that follows ancient liturgy. All that said, it is country club run by those who have have power in the Alpine area. There are challenges in getting involved and being accepted if you are not already a part of the culture, a part of Alpine, and accepted by the Alpine elite. Tread cautiously.
