1 /5 Beth-Anne Sindylek: Do yourself a favor and DO NOT file your taxes here. It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with this “company.” About six months ago (February 4th, 2020) I decided the file my taxes with Insta-Cash in Texas city. I have never filed with this company before but I had some people recommend me to them. I sat down and Angie quoted me roughly about a $6,000 return. She asked me if I wanted direct deposit or a paper check. She encouraged me to get a paper check since it would be “faster.” Angie then told me that it should only take about 2 weeks for me to get my return. I said great, I filed, and then left. Fast forward to about mid March... still no check or any information. I called Insta-Cash on numerous occasions and was told to be patient that the IRS was probably just “backed up.” Fair enough. I wait about two more months (around May) to reach out again. Still getting the run-around. No one knows what’s going on and why my funds have been held by the IRS. I finally decide that enough is enough. I’m a struggling mom of two children who was really depending on this money to help me with my maternity leave. But at this point, the baby was already born and the COVID-19 outbreak was in full gear. I reached out to my local congressman to help me get this situated. About a week later, I received a phone call from a tax advocate. She was extremely helpful and informed me that there was an error on my tax return. She advised me that my tax preparer (Angie from Insta-Cash) “mis calculated” my federal withholdings by over $1,000. So, this was the reason my funds were being held. The tax advocate then informed me that it would be in my best interest to file an amended return. I reached out to Insta-Cash for assistance in filing the amended return. I called several times and was forwarded to a voicemail. I thought maybe they were busy, so I went to the office to find out they were closed due to COVID. I continued to cal daily and finally got through to someone only to be told that there was nothing they could do to help me. We just had to “wait it out.” I was infuriated. I went to H&R Block and they amended everything for me, no issues. I had to pay a fee for them to do this but was so desperate to get it fixed. I FINALLY receive my tax return. Insta-cash still feels that they should take “their” portion of my return for preparing it. Even after I had to pay another company to fix THEIR mistake. This has been an absolute nightmare on my end and no one at Insta-Cash offered to help me get it situated. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME AND DO NOT FILE YOUR TAXES HERE!!!
