Lloyd McMullen: Im the primary on a truck loan with Truist Bank. Its my sons truck and hes responsible for making payments. He made the first ever payment in Sept, 2024. The following month, he was in Asheville, NC working as a lineman to restore power to areas affected by hurricane Helene. While there, he made a manual payment a day before the due date not realizing Truist would process an automated payment the next day. The first payment processed fine, however, the second payment was returned NSF. As a result, Truist charged him $30. I spoke to several people at the bank and requested they rescind the fee, however, all declined. Why they processed the automatic payment after he paid manually isnt clear.
