3 /5 Darla Taylor: Hi, I like to put out good reviews and Mission Granbury has helped me in the past with food and a utility bill. Which I am very thankful for and all they do. However back in December I had called to get a heater cause mine went out and Im on a very small fixed income. I was told to come get one and it would be waiting for me. I went to pick it up and there were several lined up on the office cabinet. I had to go out and get DL to verify myself and when I came back to get it, the people in the office were laughing and immediately handed me a desktop heater the size of my hand. When I questioned about it vs the other heaters that were being distributed, they said sorry thats all we have. It had been opened and used. I took it and thanked them as they continued to laugh. A few weeks later I had my brother go get me the original heater they were distributing out and he had no problems getting the heater for me that I was supposed to get originally. I am grateful for what this organization does for the community and for myself but the way they went about helping me felt like a slap in the face and laughing at me didnt make things any better. In your mission statement it talks about compassion and yet I didnt get that when seeking help. I hope you can understand that it is hard enough already to ask for help.
