5 /5 Robert Castaneda: When I first walked into Gold’s, I felt completely out of place. Everyone around me seemed fitter, stronger, and more confident—and I wasn’t sure I belonged. Then I started training with Michael, and everything changed. He turned the gym from an intimidating place into a place where I could grow, push myself, and actually enjoy the process.
I had already lost 156 pounds on my own, but with Michael’s help, I’ve gone even further, losing more weight and, for the first time, building real strength and muscle tone, something I had never seen on myself before. It’s exciting and motivating to notice that kind of progress. I’m also becoming more comfortable with the equipment and, just as importantly, with myself. Michael is patient, motivating, and always makes sure my form is right. He pushes me hard but always checks in, which makes a huge difference (even though I usually say I’m fine, because I actually like the pressure of pushing into muscles I’ve never seen before). His positive attitude makes the gym feel less intimidating and more like a place I belong.
What I really appreciate is how he keeps workouts fresh. He introduced me to boxing, and I absolutely love it. It’s fun, it relieves stress, and it gives me something different to look forward to besides lifting weights and conditioning. We still do the hard work, but that little break makes training fun and keeps me excited to come back.
I’ve even encouraged a couple of my coworkers to train with him, and they were just as impressed with his coaching. Michael isn’t just a trainer, he’s a motivator who genuinely cares about his clients and their success.
Gold’s Gym should know how lucky they are to have Michael on their team. He inspires people to get stronger, more confident, and excited to keep pushing forward. I’m truly looking forward to continuing my journey with him.
