1 /5 Jim G: I contacted the Kcmar agency to get a quote and look at moving my insurance from another company. I was asked to send a copy of my prior insurance so they could match the coverages. I had just purchased a home in Bastrop and wanted a local agent. I move my auto and wrote my home through Kcmar. In the chaos of moving, I never looked at my policy until much later. When I reviewed my coverage, I found my deductibles were raised, coverage was left off, nothing even similar to the coverage I had. I can only assume it was to give a lowball estimate. I went into the agency to straighten it out, explained the issue, was given an excuse of someone "messed with the quote". Thinking all was fixed, I left. On receiving the new policy, I saw more coverage still missing, it took several calls, complaints to management, and finally asking to be transferred to a new agent to finally get the coverage I was supposedly quoted and purchased. Oh yes, and at a higher rate than quoted. To this day, I have not been contacted by the Kcmar agency with explanation or apology or anything. I am truly amazed at the total lack of customer service and disregard of the situation.
