1 /5 Yessica Garcia: First my review is not meant for Maggie, or Kellie or Alonzo. They put in a lot of work, and dedication to all of the cases they receive and their hearts are genuinely in their cases.
If you are looking for an attorney that has experience with high conflict family law cases, I do not recommend Mrs Pratt. I’m not sure how she does in criminal law, since I didn’t hire her for criminal law. I can only share my experience from my family law case.
When I initially called the office, I made them aware that my case is extremely complicated because of the unethical attorney representing my ex husband, and because of the domestic violence, and they stated they were able to take on my case.
My family doesn’t have much, and my husband sold his motorcycle to be able to retain Mrs Pratt with $5,000. They were willing to work with us on making payments for the rest of the $5,000.
From the very beginning I made Mrs Pratt aware that the temporary orders that were drafted by opposing counsel and signed by a judge, needed to be reviewed due to the things that were added on there that were not ordered by a judge, nor were in my Final Decree. And some of things included limitations to access to the children. Yet a motion for a modification was never filled.
My ex husband has been in violation of our temporary orders, yet an enforcement or a motion to compel was never filled against my ex husband. But Mrs Pratt was able to “threaten me” with withdrawal if I didn’t follow broad orders.
Within my case I was told multiple times that I needed to follow broad orders but multiple times I asked for clarification and details and was just left to figure it out.
Not only once, or twice, but multiple times did I email Mrs Pratt asking her for feedback, and or advice on important factors in my case in regards to the amicus, my safety, my children and other subjects, yet I was left on read and not “taken serious “.
When we would ask her on a game plan for the case because there were multiple times that things were done by the attorneys that were questionable, we never heard a response.
I scheduled calls with Mrs Pratt on certain days and times, and the call was made to me maybe 30minutes later, or maybe the next day.
I had emailed her about interference with child custody and access and about parental alienation that was happening in my case, and she posted a video on TikTok saying how she just learned about parental alienation.
Multiple times I told her a lot of important factors and Mrs Pratt only took what the opposing party was telling her about me.
When I brought up concerns and facts about opposing counsel and the amicus, I was told that “they’ll just argue everything, and that’s why it’s best for us to just not even bother “.
I don’t believe family law is her niche. Attorneys know what are their strengths and what are their weaknesses, but their clients can also tell. Because when I expressed facts about equal parental rights, I found out that on their website they made a blog for Father’s rights and for grandparents rights. But no where is there a blog about Parents rights, or to include Mother’s rights.
The ball was dropped more than 3 times in my case, but instead of acknowledging it, I was made seem like nothing happens oh well.
A good attorney isn’t afraid to communicate with their clients the truth, the ugly, and the mistakes that were made, what can be done, what will be done, discuss negotiations, and discuss game plans. And I missed out on everything. Specially the conversation on negotiating a psychological evaluation “in my best interest “ in exchange of attorney fees.
After all of this, I’m still not sure if I should proceed with a grievance since I do still respect Mrs Pratt and the firm.
I will update my review as time goes.
