5 /5 Scott Hubert: This dealership is truly a hidden gem of the Southwest. There’s something special happening in Comanche, Texas—and while the Dairy Queen happy hour is worth a stop, the real treasure is Bayer Motor Company.
In my 34 years of purchasing vehicles, including managing more than 200 fleet transactions for contractors, I can confidently say this was the best dealership experience I’ve EVER had. I’ve worked with friends, and even family, at other dealerships in the past and expected top-tier treatment. Yet the service, personal touch, seamless process, fair pricing, and genuine kindness extended to my wife and me at Bayer Motor Company surpassed them all. You can walk the world over and not find a better dealership or better team. Full stop.
I first spoke with Jason P. on a Monday morning. He is a true gentleman and servant and will hustle for his clients. He didn’t just talk about customer service—he showed it. Within ten minutes of our call, he had taken the vehicle I was interested in for a spin, sent me videos and photos, and pointed out both highlights and flaws (it had about 130k miles, after all). That honesty and hustle convinced me that passing up a local deal and traveling the five-hour drive from Houston would be worth it. Spoiler alert: it absolutely was.
By the time we arrived, Jason had the car detailed, filled with gas, and as much paperwork prepped as possible. Jason’s hustle never slowed. The facility itself was stunning—modern, spotless, and stocked with hundreds of vehicles – both new and pre-owned. We were warmly greeted by Josh M., the sales manager, who emphasized that our satisfaction mattered more than the sale. He encouraged us to take our time, asked multiple times if we were happy with the vehicle (we were!), and treated us with genuine respect.
Finance was quick and painless, about five minutes with Mark, who was professional and refreshingly free of high-pressure warranty pitches (though Bayer does offer solid warranty options). When everything was done, we stayed and chatted with the team, feeling less like customers and more like friends. The car drove home perfectly, but honestly, what stuck with us most was the atmosphere of kindness and authenticity. These are simply good human beings who happen to sell cars—and it is obvious that they put relationships far ahead of profits.
I also learned something unique: Bayer successfully operates both a Ford and a GM dealership within blocks of each other—a rare feat that speaks volumes about their culture. These are two competing manufacturers and yet, I am told the two teams are cohesive and work together wonderfully. If that doesn’t tell a story! And as Mark in finance noted, many of Bayer’s customers come from well outside Comanche: Dallas, Oklahoma, Lubbock, Abilene, Brownwood, and beyond. Some even purchase sight unseen and have the purchase shipped. After my experience, I can say without hesitation I’d make that long drive again for my next vehicle. I hope that day is soon. Bayer is worth every mile and just better than every other dealership. Honestly, if I didn’t have a car, I’d even consider walking—it’s that worth it!
Thank you, Jason, Josh, Mark, and the entire Bayer team for going above and beyond. See you again soon on the next transaction!
