Barneys a terrific coach who really cares about all his boxers. If you are even considering boxing, or a good workout, you should DEFINITELY stop by Barney & Me Boxing Gym!! Its truly a fantastic gym, its a crown jewel of McKinney.

1 /5 Marty: Probably the most disorganized boxing event Ive been to. 2 hours late on everything. Event supposed to start at 1pm and first bout started at 3pm. Invited my whole family and a bunch of friends who drove hours away only to find out that I was unmatched for the first day. Luckily they had another event going on outside so they didnt even bother buying a ticket. They didnt give me my book back so I assumed I was going to get matched the next day. I showed up 7:30am the next day to find out Im unopposed again. Apparently they forgot and "overlooked" to put my name in the unopposed list the day before. They shouldve called and emailed weeks before if there was anybody in my weight class registered. I trained hard for three months, sacrificed time away from my family , and lost a lot of pounds to get to this point and was so excited to compete only to be disappointed by a disorganized event like this. This event was not worth risking your brain health to. The ring broke mid match and they spent 15 minutes repairing it. They shouldnt be charging 20 dollars per head if this was the case. If this is USA Boxing, they should be ashamed of themselves.

1 /5 J Mill: On my sons 6th visit to the gym, they put him in a sparring sessions with a boxer 5 weight divisions above him and said to go full speed. On top of that, the other boxer was much more experienced as my son was brand new to boxing. He was diagnosed with a concussion the next day and sent home by the school nurse. I waited a while to write this, but decided I owed it to anyone considering this gym to know whats going on over there. Its not just disappointing and unsafe...its wreckless. Call USBoxing and get referrals. They wont recommend this gym.

1 /5 Juan Banda: Cinco De Mayo Tournament Was Unorganized went to the Weigh-ins my Daughter didnt get a opponent because the opposite side was 3lbs over and didnt even get a call or a email to say she wasnt gonna fight waste of a day and when asking the head matchmaker about sit she had a attitude like she didnt want to deal with anyone or even be there couldnt even ask a small nole question without her snapping at you

Alexis Thomas: First of all, I’ve tried to call this place multiple times with no answer and no call backs. Second, I’m a working mom and I knew I was running 2 minutes late to my first class so I tried to call and ask if that was okay when I left the house (literally 20 minutes before the class started) of course they didn’t answer. I drove all the way up there for them to say they have a strict no late policy which could’ve been answered on the phone before I drove up there. Finally, I get the no late policy, but if you’re someone with a more hectic schedule, I’d recommend not going with this class as they are unforgiving. Most fitness classes at least give you a 5 minute window.

EōS Fitness - Plano

April Adams: My Eos Metroplex Tour continued today with a visit to the 15th Street location in Plano. This is another top notch, Eos location with all of the equipment I need and want. I was very excited to get a chance to try out the Skelcore Linear Back Row because it is broken at the Frisco location. This machine definitely lived up to the hype and deserves to be included in the lineup at any and every Eos location. They also had a very fancy looking plate loaded squat press that I have never seen outside of a 24 Hour Fitness. The only thing that was a negative was the lack of door hooks on the womens bathroom stall doors. I think most people would prefer not to have to put anything like a backpack, purse, coat, etc. on the floor of a public restroom. Keep up the great work Eos! Cant wait to visit another new location!

Allyson: Eōs is such a great gym! This location has a pool, cold plunge, mind/body classes and so much more! The amenities you get for the price is unmatched. If you haven’t been in, what are you waiting for? I also want to shout out the team that’s stood out every time I’ve been in. Brendyn - the manager. Always seems to remember who I am and give me a bright smile. Levi - sales member who signed me up is also so kind! Sophia and Xavier at the front desk are incredibly welcoming. Jessica - personal trainer. She’s super sweet, so knowledgeable and teaches classes as well. I highly recommend her for personal training.

Pam Stroffolino: Andrew Oliver is truly one of the best yoga instructors I’ve ever had. His teaching style is not something you typically find in a gym environment, his approach is thoughtful, intentional, and deeply grounded in technique. Andrew has a fantastic manner. His voice is calming, he’s super encouraging, and always fully present. He has a way of gently correcting posture and alignment that never feels critical, only supportive and incredibly helpful. After each session, I leave feeling stronger, more grounded, and with a better understanding of my own practice and I’ve been practicing for 20+ years. If you’re looking for a teacher who brings knowledge, patience, and exceptional skill to every class, he is the one! Highly recommend.

Megan DiCenzo: I was visiting my sister from out of town and wanted to check out Lifetime since I may be moving to the area and am looking for a new gym. She’s a member, has been for over a year, and plays pickleball, which I’m also interested in. Naturally, I joined her as a guest (signed in properly, by the way). We were rudely greeted by Lee -Picture the textbook “Karen starter pack”: short boy haircut, glasses, and an attitude that could peel paint off the walls. She marched up to us without a hello, without a smile, just straight into interrogation mode: “Who are you?” Followed by snapping at my sister that she is not allowed to bring a guest. Excuse me? We double-checked the posted pickleball court rules. Spoiler alert: nothing about guests not being allowed. It felt less like “enforcing policy” and more like she just woke up and chose hostility. For a gym that charges premium membership prices, maybe hire people who don’t make paying members (and their guests) feel like intruders. Bottom line: if this is the vibe, no thanks. Can we normalize not hiring Karens? When she leaves, I’ll come back.

Ethan Reynolds: Typical scummy gym - tells you theres no commitment at sign up, can cancel any month, friend pass, etc. Only to bait and switch the exact second your signature goes down. Dont sign up for any length of time with these scammers. The gym is TINY, too...not that its an issue, this is probably one of the lowest traffic gyms out there. Wouldnt have even left a review, except that Ive tried to unsubscribe to their marketing emails about 20 times since I finally got them to accept my cancellation of membership (after still being charged for another 3 months after the agreed upon last payment) and I still get them. So...

Evo Gyms - Plano

robert rose: My wife & I have been going to Evo with our trainer Jack Johnstone. It is a very clean gym with great equipment, really nice showers etc. Since you have to be with a trainer you are never waiting on equipment, no large tvs with stuff you dont want to watch or music you dont want to listen to. We highly recommend you come and check it out.

Kelsey Scott: This is my home gym. I love the classes and all the Staff excluding a rude yoga instructor, Peggy. I don’t blame the gym for her low emotional intelligence. Mr. Nesbitt is always so helpful and a genuine man.
