It has been an fantastic journey. My stylist, Madelyn, is gifted at her craft and always delivers amazing results. The salon is always hip with a great atmosphere and always up to date with the latest trends. I highly recommend them!

Marsha Morales Golden Salon is incredible, and Madelyn is a true artist! I came in for a balayage blonde, and she absolutely nailed it. Not only is she super knowledgeable, but she also took the time to give me advice on maintenance and helped me figure out a realistic routine and style that works for my life (as a mama of 3 kids under 5, I need very low maintenance). The best part? I walked out of there looking like an IG model. My hair looks so good, I feel completely underdressed for how amazing it is now. I’ve been in Texas for 7 years now, and spent the majority of that time looking for a hair stylist I loved—I’ve finally found it! For the first time since moving, my hair is lighter in color without looking orange or brassy and Madelyn spends time letting me know what will, and won’t, work for my hair type. After years of not feeling confident with my hair color, followed by losing hair due to post partum, I finally love it again and have the desire to actually spend time styling it, instead of just throwing it in a bun. So very thankful for these girls!!!

Jacob Shale Anna is the best haircut person i’ve ever had. So friendly and understanding. Does a great job at listening exactly as to what haircut I want. Going to continue to come for as long as she’s there. The prices are also relatively affordable especially compared to other barbershops in the area.

Camille Furgeson ATTN all blondes out there that need someone who is EXTREMELY reasonably priced and can “get you there” in ONE sitting…look no farther. This salon is the real deal, I’ve paid $400+ at other salons per visit and left disappointed only to be told as a blonde eventually we would get to my goal. One and done here. Not to mention the owner is going to become a friend of yours. She is genuine, cares about her clients, and an amazing human who I now consider my friend. I’ve only left a couple reviews online but this review is SO WELL DESERVED!! My “Flipp’n Hair” looks so good!

Mary Dunn I went to find waterproof eyeliner. Very helpful in identifying what I might like to use and I asked about mascara and foundation too. I got to try everything before purchase using sanitary individual applicators. The store is in a lovely old home. There is the Merle Norman room, a spa facial room and a party room for little girl parties. They carry some beaded jewelry and bangles and a nice line of Evelyn and Crabtree products. Great help, no hard sell. Plus I got a lot of free items to try!

Scott M Ri has been my barber for a bit over a year now and it has definitely been a breath of fresh air. I move around a lot for my job so its generally stressful to always have to find a new reliable skilled barber especially considering I dont have as much hair as I used to and I dont think my hairline can survive another disaster. Ri is very good at cutting your hair as per your directions and communicates well during the process. She is committed to creating the cut that you want and generally improves each subsequent visit which is nice. She can do both a really nice fade (an actual fade) as well as a proper lineup which is something I cant say about a lot of barbers.

It might not be an issue for the demographic of the area but Im pretty sure I can get the same quality of service downtown without the ridiculous pricing. I wasnt going to update my previous review from my first visit but I couldnt shake the disappointment of driving all the way there (20 miles) to be charged like this. Billing: Flair Silk Press -$125 Womens Haircut -$82 Card Processing Fee - $6.21 Total = $213.21 The shampoo and blow dry are included in a Womans Haircut description. Why do I have to pay the full service if Im already getting the Silk Press? Ive had my hair trimmed in layers for years and was never billed this way, not even 2 years ago when I visited for the first time to get the exact same service. I was very pleased with my first experience and wouldnt have come back if I knew how it now operates. The cut, which is labeled as a trim in most salons, was done with consideration since I was concerned with retaining overall length. I appreciate the care but I wouldnt want to return for that price. As uneasy as I am about the pricing decision, I wanna be fair and include the before and after pictures of the work because it is very good. I included a week old picture of the hair to showcase the quality of the cut after the curls fade away.

Posted Up I called salon and spoke with Jolynn she gave me an appt for today at 1:30. Received a text this morning stating she wasn’t feeling well if I could reschedule. I explained to her that I had a function this evening. She text back saying Ok sorry. I asked her if there was anyone else that could do it. She responded not for rude people. I do not feel that anything I said was rude. And explained that to her with no response. Screenshot of the conversation is attached. Very unprofessional there was no reason for that even if she is not feeling well. I have never been there before and after this I will stay clear and will recommend anyone else to do the same. I just received a response from Jolynn regarding my last 2 text seen below in text screenshot she responds “Good” then added a little more. WOW I do not even have a response to that. Unbelievable. UPDATE I received a call from salon owner which apologized deeply…. Then I received an “apology” from Jolynn see below.

samantha I went to Barbie’s and saw Brittany for a second time. The first time was actually a house call that I made super last minute and she was so flexible and sweet! I loved my hair the first time, so I made a second appointment a few months later. The second time was in the salon, and my experience was amazing! My hair is exactly what I hoped for. She did highlights and toning, and blended my roots PERFECTLY! The way she blended it looks so natural. I’ve been getting my hair done for 7 years by the same person in another city. But I think I’ve officially switched because Brittany did such an amazing job with my hair that was suuuper grown out and brassy. I highly recommend her!!

Laure Missick ***UPDATE*** I wish I could give Kristen and Barbies 6 stars! I dont think I have ever had such a thorough, detailed color work for such a good price. Even got compliments from the husband! I have found my hair place in Boerne. Looking forward to taking my 4 yo for her first trim. First time at Barbies, first time with Kristen. She was great! Despite having no hot water and no power on her side of the wall, she took it in stride and we made it happen. The consult was great. She is an excellent listener, extending her professional opinion without ever making you feel judged. Love the hair cut and the way she styled my hair. Cant wait to go back early next month for my balayage! Highly recommend.

Aura Bair Brittany is an AMAZING hair dresser at barbies salon! I started going to her in 2013 when she was still in school and since then I have followed her to her first salon she worked at and then followed her to barbies and she’s been doing my hair for all this time and I’ve never ever had any issues with it and have always loved it and gotten compliments on it. I always send people her way. You will not regret booking with her!!

Agnes Ageless I made an appointment with whomever was available I got a next day appointment at my time . Randi was very good hair colorist and talented haircut yet but they put services prices on their webpage which the particular hairdressers do not honor . I understand that she might charge different price but if there is no disclosure on the prices for services they should be obliged to adhere to it for the first time . . My service according to the price list was 150 dollars had to pay 230 even required a tip which does not apply for the owners of the chair and at this point I already felt taken advantage off. I do not mind paying specially for a good service provided but that should be disclosed . . Just be aware when you going to new operator you are at her price mercy .AND After the service was rendered. So there is nothing you can do . Having said that - I believe that those are good talented nice stylists .

Gladys Mejia We had 2 makeup artists come in. Kayleigh: 4 1/2 star rating: She was for my daughter since it was her quinceanera, whom she had met with already. She did great in fixing the previous concerns. She would have gotten a 5 but the eyelash strip came off in the corners 1 hr later even after we told her and she added more glue. Marys rating 2 1/2 stars: Mary was scheduled for me. I struggled with Mary a bit and felt our vibes were different. She had asked me if I had any inspo pics and what I wanted when I told her what I wanted she started. Then I was trying to show her my inspo pics and she was dismissive about it and didnt pay attention. I told her I wanted a blue to match my daughters dress and the blue eyeliner was darker than expected. The glitter she put on my eyeshadow was not at all what I said. I said I wanted shimmer not glitter and it was like a rainbow colored. The foundation she added was darker than my skin color. I tried to show her what I bought specifically for the day and she again was very dismissive. My mom decided last minute she wanted her makeup done and she might have felt hurried since I wanted to be at the church by noon but I allowed myself "30 min grace period" and she seemed really rushed when she still had 40 min to do my moms makeup. When she was doing my moms hair, she wasnt listening to my moms request until we had to keep repeating ourselves. even then when she was done my moms do kept moving to the side when my mom said she didnt want it to the side. By 6:00 her bun had shifted. When she initially placed it on her head it was crooked, rather than replacing it she kept moving it over and over. Im not an artist but the best thing to have done would have been to remove it and start over. (It was a fake bun and all she had to do was clip it in place and pin it with bobby pins.) In the end, she was a bit assertive and pushy and rarely made me feel relaxed and easy. I wanted Renee but she will only be available if she is working parties other than that she will hire other artists. FYI. Also, please note I added this same review on Wedding Wire ( I know it was for a quince but it was still for a big event, and makeup and hair were still a service) just to let brides know you will not always get Renee and she disputed and it no longer shows.

Cassidy Drgac Renee truly amazed me with her speed and efficiency on my wedding day. She brought in a second, as our wedding timeline was cutting it close. The second did great hair, and Renee went to town with her airbrush wand. Renees signature is doing full face airbrush, and I felt like she and really delivered on all of the looks that day. We had extra time after HMU was done, which helped me with my nerves and I appreciated the breather before putting on the dress. If you are looking for someone with a lot of experience, efficiency, and a great finished outcome, go with On Location H&MU.

Shelby wagner Renee is outstanding and such a doll! She exceeded my expectations and I found her a month before my wedding. I was so worried I wouldn’t have the best hair and make up on my special day but thank god for my mom finding Renee. My mother in law, mom and bridesmaids were all stunning! The day of was very windy and my make up and hair made it through the evening and up until the next day. If you have any event Renee travels to any location and will have you looking amazing.
